SGAC Global Rising Star Scholarship 2024

The Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) is proud to announce the Global Rising Star Award in 2024, an extraordinary opportunity for young leaders from emerging countries to shine on the global stage. This prestigious award aims to foster the participation of burgeoning space enthusiasts in the 22nd Space Generation Congress (SGC) and the 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan, Italy.

Opportunity Highlights

The winners of this award will receive a scholarship grant covering round-trip travel, accommodation, visa expenses, and registration fees for both the SGC (10-12 October 2024) and IAC (14-18 October 2024), following the SGAC Scholarship Reimbursement Policy. With a total of USD $12,000 distributed among six winners, each awardee will also be honored with a certificate during the SGC.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be students or young professionals from any UN Member or observer state, aged 18 to 35 as of October 10, 2024.
  • Must be an SGAC member (registration available on the SGAC website).
  • Previous recipients of SGAC scholarships in the past two years may have lower priority, with an aim to extend opportunities to new members.
  • Judges and organizers of the competition are not eligible.

Application Process

  • Application submissions must be made in English via the SGAC Scholarships Submission Form.
  • Applicants need to provide detailed responses to several questions, showcasing their contributions to the space sector, their project ideas or motivations, and why they should be selected.
  • Required documents include a motivation letter and a CV in PDF or DOCX format, not exceeding 10 MB.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Contribution to the local and global space community (35%)
  • Motivation and project/main drive for attending the events (35%)
  • CV (20%)
  • Country of residence and access to opportunity (10%)
