The State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) in collaboration with Fulbright Greece has announced a new call for scholarships aimed at American PhD candidates for the academic year 2025-2026. This initiative is designed to foster scientific and research exchanges between Greece and the USA, strengthening the academic cooperation between universities and research centers in both countries.
Benefits of the Scholarship
For the academic year 2025-2026, up to four scholarships will be awarded to American doctoral candidates. These scholarships provide a comprehensive support package, including:
- Travel Expenses: Coverage of round-trip travel costs from the USA to Greece.
- Settling-In Allowance: Financial assistance for initial setup in Greece.
- Monthly Stipends: Regular monthly financial support to cover living expenses during the six-month research period.
- Research Materials Allowance: Funds to purchase necessary consumables and materials for research.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be American PhD candidates enrolled in recognized American institutions of higher education.
- Plan to conduct research in Greece for six months as part of their doctoral thesis preparation.
- Apply within the specified deadline with all required documents.
