Scholarship Benefits

  • Award Value: A $7,000 tuition scholarship will be directly applied to the recipient’s tuition account at the University of Pittsburgh.
  • Research Engagement: Recipients will have the opportunity to work closely with a faculty mentor on a proposed research project.
  • Presentation Opportunity: Scholars are required to present their research findings in the annual Sanielevici Seminar, held as part of the Undergraduate Seminar (Physics 1310).

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Enrollment: Be a declared undergraduate Physics and/or Astronomy major at the University of Pittsburgh.
  2. Research Interest: Demonstrate a strong interest in conducting research within the Department.
  3. Financial Need: Must not already receive scholarship support equivalent to full tuition from other sources.
  4. Academic Status: Have at least one full year of undergraduate study remaining at the University of Pittsburgh following the application deadline.

    • Approach to conducting the research.

4# Expectations: Outline how the project will contribute to personal and academic growth.
