17 Research Mobilization Fellowship 2026 at Memorial University
Are you an ambitious graduate student eager to transform your research into real-world impact? Thanks to a generous grant from the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador, Memorial University has just opened applications for the Research Mobilization Fellowship Program—and it’s bigger than ever!
A total of 17 fellowships valued at $15,000 each are now up for grabs for international students ready to bridge the gap between academic research and commercialization.
Why This Fellowship is a Game-Changer?
This isn’t your typical research program. The fellowship empowers science and engineering students to turn ideas into innovations. Over the course of eight (08) months, fellows will gain hands-on training in:
- Translational research and R&D.
- Intellectual property management.
- Professionalism and entrepreneurial mindset.
- New venture creation and commercialization pathways.
In other words, it prepares you not just as a researcher but as a scientist-entrepreneur with global career potential in academia, industry, or government.
Who Can Apply?
- International graduate students currently enrolled in a research-based program at Memorial University.
- Applicants with research in science and technology fields that show potential for commercialization.
- Students able to attend the New Venture Creation graduate course (Fridays, Oct–Dec 2025, 1:00–3:30 p.m., St. John’s campus, with online options for Grenfell and Labrador campuses).
- Commitment of at least 5 hours per week for workshops and program activities.
Note: Postdoctoral fellows are not eligible.

- Alignment of your goals with the fellowship’s objectives.
- Academic record, leadership, and professional experiences.
