The Opportunity: Nature, Health, and Oxford Research
This DPhil scholarship is designed to support cutting-edge, evidence-based research.
- Host University & Degree: You will be based at the University of Oxford, pursuing a DPhil in Primary Care Health Science through the Centre for Evidence-based Medicine (CEBM). You will also be an associate member of the Global Centre on Healthcare and Urbanisation at Kellogg College.
- Unique Placement: Scholarship recipients will undertake a mandatory placement at The King’s Foundation’s new Health & Wellbeing Centre at Highgrove (opening in 2027), offering invaluable practical experience in holistic community health services.
- Interdisciplinary Focus: The program welcomes applicants from a wide range of fields, including:
- Evidence-based Medicine
- Public Health
- Social Sciences
- Health Economics/Psychology
- Environmental Studies/Geography
- Community Health and Integrated Systems.
Key Financial Information for International Applicants
While this is a highly competitive, prestigious award, international students must be aware of the financial structure:

Stipend & Research Costs: The scholarship covers a generous stipend above the UK Research and Innovation rate (a minimum of £20,000 per annum) for the duration of the fee liability (typically 3 years). It also includes an additional provision for research expenses, mentoring, and career development training.

Fees for Overseas Students: The scholarship will pay fees at the Home rate. Overseas students are welcome to apply, but you must secure alternative funding sources to cover the difference between the Home and Overseas fee rates.
