The CDUT university is accepting applications from international students for both master’s and doctoral programs across more than 40 disciplines under CDUT scholarships 2026-2027 intake, with four separate scholarship tracks that can cover tuition, housing, insurance, and monthly living stipends. Programs are available in both Chinese and English, which removes a significant barrier for applicants who don’t speak Mandarin. Whether you’re eyeing artificial intelligence, petroleum engineering, nuclear science, robotics, or business administration, CDUT has a seat and potentially a full ride waiting.

The university sits in Chengdu, consistently ranked among China’s most livable cities and a growing hub for tech and energy industries — which means graduates walk into a job market, not away from one.

What the CDUT Scholarship Money Actually Looks Like?

The financial support structure at CDUT is layered across four distinct scholarship programs, each with its own funding level. Here is a breakdown of every award available to international postgraduate applicants:

  • Chinese Government Scholarship covers RMB 70,000 to RMB 90,000 per year, bundling tuition, accommodation, insurance, and a living allowance into a single package for both master’s and doctoral candidates.
  • Sichuan Provincial Government Scholarship awards RMB 25,000 per year for master’s students and RMB 30,000 per year for doctoral students.
  • Chengdu Municipal Government Scholarship mirrors the provincial award at RMB 25,000 per year for master’s and RMB 30,000 per year for doctoral candidates.
  • Chengdu University of Technology Scholarship waives registration, tuition, and accommodation fees entirely for top-performing master’s and doctoral students, with insurance also covered by the university.
  • Beyond scholarships, all master’s students receive a monthly living allowance of RMB 1,000 for 10 months each academic year, while doctoral students receive RMB 1,500 per month on the same schedule.
  • Students involved in their supervisor’s research projects can earn additional stipends based on their contribution.

Who Can Actually Apply?

CDUT keeps its eligibility criteria straightforward, but there are firm cutoffs on age and language proficiency that applicants should verify before investing time in the application.

  • Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with no criminal record and in good physical and mental health.
  • Master’s applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years of age.
  • Doctoral applicants must hold a master’s degree and be under 40 years of age.
  • For English-taught programs, applicants need IELTS 6.0 or above, TOEFL 80 or above, or an equivalent certificate — unless English is their native or official national language.
  • For Chinese-taught programs, HSK Level 4 or equivalent is the minimum requirement.
  • Applicants must be willing to comply with Chinese laws and university regulations.

How to Get Your Application In

The entire process runs through a single online portal, and there is no paper submission stage. Start by visiting the official application site at https://www.cdut.edu.cn/en/info/1028/1932.htm and registering an account. Once logged in, select the admission category for master’s or doctoral programs in either Chinese or English instruction, then pick your intended major from the available list. The system will walk you through uploading your documents — passport, diploma, transcripts, language certificate, two professor recommendation letters, a physical examination form, bank-issued financial proof, a criminal record clearance, your CV, and a research proposal of at least 1,000 words. If you have published papers, competition awards, or other supporting materials, upload those as well. Every document must be in Chinese or English; anything in another language needs a notarized translation. The university reserves the right to request additional materials or schedule a phone or video interview after reviewing your file.

Apply Before the Deadline

Applications for the September 2026 intake are open now at CDUT and will close on June 15, 2026.
