Tongji University, in partnership with the Bank of China, has established the prestigious “Tongji University & Bank of China Global Talent Scholarship 2025.” This Bank of China scholarship program at Tongji University supports exceptional international PhD candidates from Europe and Belt and Road countries, fostering a globalized platform to develop innovative leaders and promote international collaboration in academia.
Coverage Plan
Successful applicants of this scholarship will enjoy a wide range of benefits, including:
- Full Tuition Waiver: Coverage of annual tuition fees of 45,000 yuan.
- Living Expenses: Monthly stipend of 5,000 yuan, awarded 12 times a year.
- Accommodation: On-campus housing provided free of charge. If unavailable, off-campus housing will be subsidized at 3,000 yuan per month.
- Comprehensive Insurance: Coverage for medical and major disease/accident insurance worth 800 yuan per year.
- Dissertation Supervision Fee: A one-off grant of 5,000 yuan to the student’s supervisor upon completion of studies.
- International Travel Fees: One-time travel allowance of 12,000 yuan after successful completion of the degree.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply for BOC Global talent scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health and under the age of 40.
- Hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree from a reputable foreign institution or a Double-First Class university in China.
- Have completed a master’s degree with an average grade of no less than 85 or a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
- Demonstrate a strong research capability, evidenced by published articles in top-ranked journals or participation in major research projects during postgraduate studies.
- Receive no other funding or scholarships from the Chinese government or Chinese universities.
- Possess good language proficiency as required for the chosen PhD program (refer to detailed requirements for language ability).
