DAAD MIDE Scholarships 2024 at HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences

The DAAD MIDE Scholarship 2024 batch is offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) to support highly qualified applicants from developing countries who wish to pursue a Master’s degree in International and Development Economics (MIDE) at the HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences.

Eligibility Requirements

If you are from a developing country and have at least two years of professional experience, you can apply for the DAAD Mide scholarship whereas following criteria needs to be met:

  • Must be a citizen of a developing country.
  • At least two years of professional experience after graduation.
  • Graduation should not be more than six years ago.
  • Must meet the MIDE program admission requirements.

Admission Requirements

  • A first university degree with 180 ECTS (or equivalent).
  • At least 15 ECTS in Economics (3 modules for international applicants).
  • Proof of English language proficiency.

Application Procedure

  2. Prepare electronic copies of required documents.
  3. Complete the MIDE application form available from 01 July to 30 September 2024.
  4. Submit necessary documents with the application form, including:
    • Letter of motivation (max. two pages, dated and signed).
    • Transcript of records and degree certificate(s) with official translations.
    • Explanation of the grading system at your previous university.
    • CV (Europass format), dated and signed.
    • Copy of your passport.
    • Proof of English language proficiency.
    • Secondary School Leaving Certificate with graduation date.

Note: Certified hardcopies of university documents are not required at the time of application. They will be needed only if you are admitted and accept the study place.

Admissions Evaluation Criteria: Your admission to the MIDE program will be based on:

  • Cumulative grade point average (40%)
  • Number of economics courses taken (25%)
  • Letter of motivation (35%)

Application Timeline

  • Applications for the April 2025 intake open on 1 July 2024.
  • The deadline for applications with a DAAD scholarship is 31 August 2024.
  • The deadline for applications without a scholarship is 30 September 2024.
