East China Normal University (ECNU) is pleased to offer the Shanghai Government Scholarships (SGS) for the 2024 academic year, aimed at fostering international talent in its full-time undergraduate programs. Scholarship Categories and Eligibility
The scholarship is available to non-Chinese citizens who are in excellent health and have demonstrated strong academic and personal integrity. Applicants must not be enrolled in 2+2 or 1+3 programs, English-taught BBA programs, or majors from the School of International Chinese Studies. Other undergraduate programs at ECNU are open for application.
Prospective students for the pre-college program must be under 23 years old with a high school diploma. Those aiming for undergraduate programs should be under 25 years old and also possess a high school diploma. A key requirement is proficiency in Chinese, necessary to meet the admission criteria for your chosen major. Candidates with a Chinese proficiency level of HSK Level 3, who do not initially meet their major’s requirements, may enter a one-year pre-college program covered by the full scholarship.
ECNU Scholarship Benefits
The Shanghai Government Scholarship at East China Normal University is divided into two types:
1# Full Scholarship
This includes a tuition fee waiver, accommodation on campus or an approved off-campus living allowance of 700 RMB per month, a monthly living allowance of 2500 RMB, and comprehensive medical insurance worth 800 RMB per year.
2# Partial Scholarship
Recipients receive a tuition fee waiver and the same medical insurance provision as the full scholarship.
How You Can Submit Your Application for ECNU Scholarship in 2024?
Step 1: Online Application
The application journey begins on the ECNU online portal, where you must register, complete your application, and pay the application fee. It is crucial to follow this process meticulously, as incomplete applications or those without the application fee will not be processed. Also, ensure that you upload the required Shanghai Government Scholarship application form, available in PDF format on the portal.
Step 2: Track Your SGS Scholarship 2024 Application
You can monitor the status of your ECNU-SGS scholarship application through the online account created in Step 1. ECNU encourages you to maintain an active and accurate email address as they will use this to send important updates, such as interview arrangements and other critical notifications.
Step 3: Admission and Enrollment
The final admission results will be posted both on your online application account and on the noticeboard of the Global Education Center’s website. Successful candidates must register on time at ECNU (hopefully in September 2024) with their original graduation and degree certificates to finalize their enrollment.
