European Space Agency (ESA) Scholarships 2024 by Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC)

The ESA – SGAC Scholarship is designed to empower and enable youth to engage in critical discussions at two major space congresses.
Scholarship Overview
This prestigious scholarship offers a chance for students and young professionals from emerging countries to attend the 22nd Space Generation Congress (SGC) and the 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC). Both events are set to take place in Milan, Italy, with SGC scheduled for October 10-12, 2024, and IAC following closely on October 14-18, 2024.
Space SGC-IAC Scholarship Benefits
The selected winners will receive a comprehensive package that covers travel, accommodation, visa costs, and registration fees for both SGC and IAC. The scholarship awards a total of €2000, ensuring the awardee can participate fully without financial barriers. However, winners should be prepared to manage any additional personal expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be SGAC members aged 18 to 35 years, residing in or holding nationality of an ESA Member State or ESA Associate Member State.
- The competition is not open to competition organizers or judges.
- Winners must not receive concurrent financial support from other sources for attending these events.
Application Requirements
- Video Submission: Create a 2-minute video discussing the implications of expanding our space footprint, the ecological and ethical challenges posed, and your motivation for attending the congresses. Focus on the content and message. Ensure you are visible in the video.
- CV Submission: Submit a concise CV, limited to two pages, which includes your date of birth and a headshot photo.

Ensure that your name is at the top of all documents and adhere to the competition guidelines.
Responsibilities of Winners: Winners are expected to:
- Attend and participate fully in both SGC and IAC 2024.
- Assist in various duties at SGC and manage the SGAC booth.
- Provide a short report and video detailing their experiences at these events by November 18, 2024.
Reimbursement and Intellectual Property: The scholarship amount will be reimbursed following the completion of the events and fulfillment of all responsibilities, no later than 30 days post-event. Entrants retain copyright over their submissions, though SGAC holds non-exclusive reproduction rights.
