Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the merit scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Enrollment: Applicants must have been enrolled at Universität Hamburg for at least two semesters and be pursuing a degree. For students in two-year master’s programs and doctoral researchers, the requirement is one completed semester.
  • Citizenship: Applicants must not hold German citizenship.
  • Financial Aid: Applicants must not be eligible for the federal student loan scheme (BAföG).

    • Evaluations: Obtain evaluations from two full-time teaching staff members with doctorates at Universität Hamburg. Use the provided evaluation form.
