Nevada-UNCF Scholarship 2024 Batch

The Nevada-UNCF Scholarship Program for the 2024-25 academic year offers a remarkable opportunity for African American students from Nevada who have enrolled in a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). This scholarship aims to financially support these students, easing their path to academic success.

  • Individual Award: Up to $2500

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Nevada-UNCF Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Residency: Be permanent residents of the metropolitan Las Vegas region in Nevada.
  2. Ethnicity: Be African American.
  3. Education Level: Be a class of 2024 high school graduate who has been accepted into any HBCU.
  4. GPA: Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  5. Financial Need: Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have demonstrated unmet financial need as verified by their college or university.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following via UNCF’s online scholarship application portal by August 5, 2024:

  2. Letter of Recommendation (LOR): One letter from a non-family member submitted through the UNCF online application system.
  3. Essay: A 500-750 word essay on how growing up in Nevada has shaped their college and career goals.
  4. Transcript: A recent official or unofficial academic transcript.
  5. FAFSA: A copy of the student aid index chart from the 2024-2025 FAFSA.
  6. Acceptance Letter: A letter of acceptance from their college or university.
  7. Financial Aid Award Letter: The financial aid award letter from their college or university.

Applicants will receive an email confirmation once their complete application is submitted. If no confirmation is received, the application may not have been submitted correctly.

Award Notification

Final awards will be announced by email within 10-12 weeks of the application close date of August 5, 2024.
