Maynooth University PhD Scholarship 2025 of €25,000 per year

Scholarship Overview

The successful candidate will contribute to a groundbreaking research project analyzing the impacts of human-induced climate change on historical Irish climatic extremes. This will involve collaboration with esteemed experts, including Prof. Peter Thorne, colleagues at ICARUS, and the World Weather Attribution (WWA) group at Imperial College London.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A first-class or 2.1 honours primary degree or a relevant Master’s degree in disciplines such as: meteorology and climate, environmental science, statistics, or geography.
  • Experience with computer programming.
  • Experience handling large datasets.
  • Strong teamworking skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with climate datasets.
  • Knowledge of midlatitude region meteorology.
  • Prior experience with media.
