Each Ph.D. program has a duration of 4 years, with the possibility of early completion after 3 years, based on academic progress.
Scholarship & Financial Benefits
Every admitted student will receive:
- Annual Fellowship: €16,242.96 gross (approx. 12% tax applicable)
- One-time Settlement Allowance: €500 for EU residents, and €1,000 for non-EU residents.
- Housing Subsidy: €150/month (with valid rent contract in Trieste province)
- Laptop Contribution: Up to €400
- Mobility Support (Year 3/4): Up to €1,000 for networking/training
- Health Insurance Reimbursement: Up to €700/year for students without Italian coverage
- Parental & Medical Leave: Benefits as per Article 15 of SISSA PhD Regulations.
Eligibility Requirements
You are eligible to apply if:
- You hold or are about to complete a Master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- You are interested in high-level scientific research.
- There is no restriction on nationality or age.
- Your Master’s degree must be completed by the time of enrolment in October 2025.
