PKU Summer Project Overview
The PKU International Summer Lab Project is designed to foster international academic and scientific exchanges without the pressures of courses or credits. Participants will work alongside PKU professors in state-of-the-art facilities, contributing to groundbreaking research projects. Eligibility Criteria
To participate, applicants must:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen between the ages of 18 and 45 with a valid foreign passport.
- Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, or be working as a postdoctoral fellow or full-time scientific researcher at a non-Chinese university.
- Exhibit excellent physical and mental health, strong academic performance, and sound moral judgment.
- Comply with the Nationality Law of the People’s Republic of China and possess a friendly attitude towards China.
Application Procedure
Step 1: Connect with a PKU Professor
Begin by identifying a potential mentor through the PKU Faculty Directory. Reach out to discuss your research interests and potential PKU Summer projects. You’ll need to provide a curriculum vitae and a detailed research plan (500-1,000 words) to the professor for preliminary review.
Step 2: Complete the Online Application
Once your preliminary application is approved, proceed to complete the formal application through the Peking University International Students Online Application System. Make sure to use the program code: Science & Research Program.
Step 3: Submit Application Materials
After filling out the online application form, compile the following documents:
- Hand-signed online application form.
- Proof of highest academic degree attained or current enrollment, and official academic transcripts.
- Two hand-signed recommendation letters.
- Research plan and curriculum vitae.
- Proof of Chinese language proficiency (if applicable).
- A photocopy of the passport ID page.
Step 4: Final University Review
All applications will undergo a final review by the university, and successful candidates will receive formal admission documents.
