CICOPS Scholarships 2025 for International Students

The University of Pavia, in collaboration with EDiSU (Institute of the Right to University Studies), is proud to announce the availability of six CICOPS scholarships for the year 2025. These scholarships are designed to foster international cooperation and are specifically targeted towards visiting scholars from Developing Countries as defined by the World Bank (including low, lower-middle, and upper-middle-income economies).

Benefits of CICOPS Scholarship:

This CICOPS scholarship covers travel, accommodation, meals, a health insurance policy, and a weekly contribution of €150.00 (gross). Additionally, selected scholars will receive logistical support for visas, flight bookings, and accommodation in a university residence.

Key Features of the CICOPS Scholarships 2025

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must possess at least two years of teaching experience or have been actively involved with international organizations and institutions.
  • Eligible candidates include junior and senior university staff from Developing Countries, as well as members of significant research centers and international bodies with a focus on development studies.
  • Note: Those currently enrolled in a Doctoral or Postgraduate Course at an Italian university are not eligible.

Required Documents:

  • A detailed curriculum vitae in European format, including a list of publications.
  • An invitation letter from a professor or researcher at the University of Pavia with whom the applicant intends to collaborate.

Scholarship Duration and Application Deadline:

The scholarships allow for a research stay of 4 to 12 weeks at the University of Pavia within two windows: January 13th to July 20th, 2025, or September 8th to December 21st, 2025.

Applications must be submitted by May 31st, 2024, via the online application form available on the CICOPS website.

Selection Process:

The selection process for the CICOPS Scholarships 2025 will be overseen by a committee composed of the President of CICOPS and two other members appointed by the Rector. This committee will assess applications focusing on the scientific relevance of each proposed project, the quality of the applicant’s CV, and the fair distribution of scholarships across various departments and regions. Additionally, preference might be afforded to candidates from lower-income economies or those who have existing ties with the University of Pavia through cooperation agreements.
