Which Programmes Can Be Funded?

The scholarship supports two types of postgraduate study:

  • Master’s degree programmes leading to a recognised qualification.
  • Complementary postgraduate programmes that do not lead to a final degree.

Applicants may choose any eligible programme offered by a state or state-recognised German university. However, funding is not available for Master’s programmes that have already started in Germany.

Scholarship Duration

The funding period depends on the selected programme:

Funding generally begins from September or October 2027, depending on the selected programme and any required German language preparation. Continued funding beyond the first year is based on satisfactory academic progress.

Application Deadline

The last date to apply for the German DAAD Study Scholarships – Postgraduate Studies in the Field of Architecture 2027 is 23 September 2026. According to the official DAAD schedule, successful candidates will be selected in January 2027, with scholarship funding beginning from September 2027.
