Peking and Princeton University Fellowships 2025 Announced

Peking University and Princeton University are pleased to announce the opening of applications for the prestigious Peking-Princeton Postdoctoral Program (PPPP) for the academic years 2025-2027. This unique fellowship aims to train early-career postdoctoral researchers in the study of contemporary China, equipping them to become leaders in their respective academic fields.

Fellowship Overview:

The fellowship offers two postdoctoral research associate positions for scholars specializing in contemporary China. Each fellowship spans up to two years, with the first 12 months spent at Peking University and the subsequent 12 months at Princeton University, including a visiting appointment at Peking University. The preferred start date is September 1, 2025. and renewal after the first year is contingent on satisfactory performance.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to highly qualified researchers of all nationalities who have received their PhD no more than three years prior to the start of the appointment.
  • Applicants must not hold tenure or tenure-track faculty positions.
  • Candidates must secure endorsement from a faculty member at both Peking University and Princeton University.

Funding and Benefits:

  • At Peking University: Stipend and benefits are competitive and aligned with Chinese policy, provided through the Boya Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. Fellows are also eligible to apply for external research funding.
  • At Princeton University: Stipend and benefits are competitive, with access to travel funding, resources at the Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China, and Princeton employee benefits.

  • Concise Curriculum Vitae (max. 4 pages)
  • Contact information for two recommendation letters (including one from the applicant’s doctoral supervisor)
  • Two endorsement letters from potential supervisors at Peking University and Princeton University
