Puerto Rico Scholarship 2024 by OAS-UAGM

The 2024 OAS-UAGM Scholarship is offered in Puerto Rico. The Universidad Ana G. Méndez (UAGM) has multiple campuses and university centers located across the island, where the scholarship recipients will attend their onsite academic programs.

The 2024 OAS-UAGM Scholarship offers a unique opportunity for students from OAS member states ( pursue higher education at the Universidad Ana G. Méndez (UAGM). This scholarship, provided in collaboration with the Organization of American States (OAS), aims to foster academic and professional development through various onsite programs.


  • 50% Tuition Waiver: Provided by UAGM for scholarship recipients.
  • One-Time Tuition Allowance: The first 15 students to enroll will receive a $4,000 tuition allowance from the OAS.


To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be new applicants from an OAS member state (excluding the United States).
  • Be citizens or permanent legal residents of an OAS member state.
  • Not be current OAS scholarship holders, U.S. citizens or permanent residents, GS/OAS staff, their immediate relatives, or GS/OAS consultants.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic performance (GPA of at least 3.0/4.0).

Selection Criteria

  • Academic and professional background
  • Geographical distribution, prioritizing smaller and less developed economies
  • Essays demonstrating potential impact upon return to their home countries

Financial Responsibilities

Scholarship recipients are responsible for:

  • 50% of the remaining tuition cost
  • Application fees
  • Housing costs
  • Meal plans
  • Round-trip airfare
  • Health insurance fees
  • Books and study materials
  • Visa fees
  • Any additional fees not covered by the scholarship

Additionally, recipients can apply for the Rowe Fund student loan program (, an interest-free educational loan program offering up to $15,000 to students from Latin America and the Caribbean.
