About the Role

The successful candidate will work within the Student Learning & Academic Registry, a central department driving innovations to enhance learning and teaching experiences. As part of the Academic Skills (Access and Participation) branch, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students at risk of disengagement by delivering targeted interventions under the Student Success programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing academic skills support to build student confidence and engagement.
  • Recognizing diverse, individual support needs and signposting students to specialized services.
  • Designing high-quality student support and learning materials.
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress, retention, and achievement.
  • Engaging with students with diverse needs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Who Should Apply?

Teesside University is looking for candidates with:

  • A first degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Specialist qualifications in mental health or disability support, particularly for Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) or neurodiversity.
  • A proven track record in further or higher education settings, delivering high-quality teaching or support.
  • Proficiency with digital tools, especially Office 365, to enhance student learning.
