Who Can Apply?

The Visiting Student Research Program at KAUST is open to college students in their 3rd year or higher and Masters students. However, the program is not available to current PhD candidates, existing KAUST students, or KAUST alumni.

Eligible applicants should have strong academic records, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4, or 14 out of 20. Proficiency in English is also a requirement, necessitating good verbal and written skills. Each project has its own application button. Projects last 3-6 months and include travel, a place to stay, health insurance, and money each month.

Applicants interested in the Visiting Student Research Program (VSRP) at KAUST have the opportunity to select from a diverse range of internship projects. What Happens Next?

  1. After submitting of application, you might get an interview on ZOOM with a teacher to talk about your studies and why you’re interested
  2. If they like you, you’ll have another ZOOM interview with the Admissions Office
  3. If everything goes well, you’ll get an email saying you got in, then you’ll apply for visa and arrange travel
  4. A travel advisor will help you get ready to go to KAUST to start your VSRP program in 2024 upon selection.
