The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is pleased to announce the continuation of its initiative to foster international academic collaboration and cultural exchange with the second round of the China Link Scholarship Program for 2024. This ZChina Link Scholarship program is designed to strengthen the ties between Chinese and foreign scholars, offering a valuable opportunity for young talents around the world to pursue academic and research activities in China.

Program Overview

The China Link Scholarship Program categorizes its funding into two main types: General Scholar and Senior Scholar. General Scholars include current undergraduates or master’s students, while Senior Scholars are designed for Ph.D. students or faculty members. The program supports stays ranging from 1 to 12 months, with all scholars expected to commence their studies in China by no later than August 31, 2025.

The working language for the scholarship can be either English or Chinese, dependent on the offerings of the host university. The scholarship covers all disciplines, with the exception of studies primarily focused on the Chinese language.

Funding Benefits of Chinese Link Scholarship 2024

Successful applicants to the China Link Scholarship Program will receive comprehensive support during their time in China. This includes a tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly stipend—CNY 3,000 for general scholars and CNY 3,500 for senior scholars.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, possess good moral character, demonstrate academic excellence, and be in good physical and mental health.
  • Be under the age of 45 for general scholars, and under 50 for senior scholars at the time of application.
  • Be either registered as a full-time student or employed as a full-time academic staff at one of CSC’s foreign partner universities at the time of application and throughout the proposed stay in China.

The application process involves several key steps:

  1. Contact the prospective Chinese host university to obtain admission documents or invitations.
  2. Log into the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System to complete the CSC online application and upload necessary supporting documents.
  3. The application will then be processed by the host universities in China.

Application Deadlines

Deadlines for nominations by Chinese host universities to CSC are set for April 15 2024, July 15 2024, October 15, 2024, and January 15, 2025. CSC will announce scholarship admission results on May 15, August 15, November 15, 2024, and February 15, 2025
