Overview of Croatia Government Scholarships 2024/2025
The Ministry of Science and Education, in collaboration with the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes, is offering Bilateral Scholarships for the academic year 2024/2025. These scholarships are designed for international higher education students, university staff, and researchers aiming to study, teach, or conduct research in Croatia.
Scholarship Duration and Fields of Study
The scholarships cover the academic year from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025, excluding July and August. Recipients can study or research in any field at accredited public Croatian higher education or research institutions.
There are two main application pools for these Croatian scholarships:
Application Pool 1: Bilateral Agreements
This pool is for citizens of countries with educational cooperation or a bilateral agreement with Croatia. Priority is given to applicants nominated by their home country’s competent authorities.
Eligible Countries: Belgium (Flanders), Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Germany (Bavaria), Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Türkiye, and Ukraine.
Application Pool 2: Croatian Language Students
This pool is for foreign students of Croatian language and Slavic Studies, offering semester studies or summer seminars in Croatian language and literature.
How to Apply for Croatian Government Scholarships?
- Check Eligibility: Ensure your country has a bilateral agreement with Croatia or you’re a student of Croatian language or Slavic Studies.
- Submit Online Application: Apply through the Agency’s online application system.
- Required Documents: Include a valid passport, CV, recommendation and nomination letters, research proposal, academic transcripts, proof of enrollment, a letter of interest, and proof of language proficiency in English or Croatian.
