Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) extends a warm welcome to international students with a suite of scholarships for the batch of 2024 designed to recognize academic excellence, athletic achievements, and financial need. These FDU scholarships not only make education more accessible but also reward students’ hard work and potential. Here’s a comprehensive guide to the scholarships available, their benefits, the application process, and important deadlines.

Available FDU Scholarships With Benefits Details

FDU International Scholarship: International undergraduates can receive up to $24,000 per year. This scholarship does not require SAT or ACT scores and is renewable for up to four years.

Global Housing Grant: Offering $3,000, this grant assists students living on and attending FDU’s Metropolitan campus. It considers academic merit, financial need, and extracurricular involvement, and is renewable for up to two years.

FDU Family Grant: For families with two or more children attending FDU simultaneously, this grant offers $1,500 per student per year. This can be awarded for up to four years for undergraduates and is also available to graduate students for up to two years.

Children of Alumni Grant: Children of FDU alumni are eligible for a yearly $1,500 grant, renewable up to four years for undergraduates and two years for graduate students.

Athletic Scholarships: These vary and may cover up to full tuition and housing, recognizing superior athletic abilities in NCAA Division I sports exclusively at the Metropolitan Campus.

These FDU scholarships are awarded at the time of admission and do not increase once awarded. They are applicable for the Fall and Spring semesters only and require renewal based on full-time enrollment, maintaining a good GPA, and remaining in good standing with the university.

Application Process

International students need to follow these steps to apply for admission and automatically be considered for scholarships:

  1. Choose Your Application Method: Apply online or via mail. Visit the FDU International Admissions page to start your application.
  2. Complete the Application: Use the Common Application, which is accepted by many universities, including FDU.
  3. Submit Official Transcripts: Ensure your official high school transcripts are sent directly to FDU.
  4. Consider Optional Materials: Enhance your application by optionally including standardized test scores, essays, a resume, recommendation letters, and interview scheduling.

There is no separate application for scholarships; all students who submit a complete application for admission are considered.

Application Deadline

  • Fall Semester: July 1, 2024
  • Spring Semester: December 1, 2024

Applying early is recommended as FDU practices rolling admissions, which allows them to evaluate FDU Scholarship applications as they are received rather than after a deadline has passed. With these generous scholarships, FDU makes pursuing higher education in the U.S. more accessible and rewarding. For more information, prospective students should consult the FDU International Admissions and FAQs for International Students.
