Options After Graduation in 2023 – Career Decider Moment

You might have heard the phrase ‘Brace for Impact’ in movies and seasons, in the same way this kinda relates to this situation when a student life phase will be finished and a new phase of professional life will start. Right at that point of impact, i have seen many students panicking as they are not well prepared to understand and handle this situation to choose the right career option for themselves and this is why i wrote this useful article to provide you with insights on your postgraduation options. I hope after reading this article you will get an idea of all useful options after your graduation.

1# Enjoy Your Graduation Ceremony and Get All Documents

I advise all my students to not think too much about anything in life because that would make their present time quite complex and based on that philosophical thought i suggest you to first enjoy your graduation ceremony and make sure to follow all protocols of your university for completing your degree requirements and receiving all the documents in time.

2# Reunite With Family at Home

Think of this as you have accomplished an academic milestone by completing your degree by studying nights and days, and following a tough class routine and now after your graduation what would you need the most? For me, that would be taking rest, time with family, and taking a short break so i can then get refreshed. And with that refreshed mindset i would be able to make much better decisions for the next phase of my life as i would have to choose between four big options of starting a job, or taking admission to a specialized degree/becoming a researcher, starting a business, or becoming an entrepreneur.

3# Decide to Study Further or Start a Job

Successful graduation takes everyone to a spot where three new doors are available and you are given the option to unlock any one of those doors to start a new phase of your life. I understand this is definitely going to be a very challenging phase for anyone since the weight of upcoming life depends on that which is why i advise you not to skip step 2 of my article and give yourself a proper time to relax before taking such big decision in your life.

Option # 1: Apply for Jobs After Graduation (Highly Competitive)

This is the most common option among recent graduates because i guess everyone after graduation wants to make money and by utilizing their recently received degrees which clearly means recent graduates actually make an attempt to cash their degrees. If you want to do the same then my advice is to start participating in recruitment drive campaigns launched by multinationals to capture recent graduates directly from Universities and by doing so you may become eligible to appear for an interview/test for trainee graduate trainee job position and may even get an appointment letter before your graduation.

Option # 2: Get Admission in Degree Specialization (MS/PhD)

This is yet another option for you after graduation and this one is my favorite one because to study further you are not required to spend money because there are so many international fully funded scholarships available for all degrees and subjects that you can even think of. So, for that all you need to do is to apply for those international scholarships such as Chevening, Fulbright, CSC China, MEXT, and Korean scholarships to start your next higher degree. Following this path, you will receive a higher specialized degree and may become a professor, researcher, scientist, or inventor.

Option # 3: Start a Business or Become an Entrepreneur

This is actually a less common and highly risky option but if it works out then you may end up becoming a multi-million/billion dollar business. This option is very exciting because a large amount of risk is involved and with that you would be the only responsible person behind making that business/startup a success which further means you will be putting in more efforts in it as compared to studying further or doing a job for any company, therefore you need to figure out if you can afford to take this risk of starting a business after graduation or not.
